New Spanish strategy to address rural demographic challenge
The Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) will launch a public consultation in early 2025 to develop a new, cross-cutting national strategy for the demographic challenge, based on broad stakeholder participation.

Promotion of EU farm products: call for proposals and info day
The European Commission launched a new call for proposals for EU farmers and the broader food industry to promote activities for sustainable EU agri-food products – deadline 23 April 2025. New Declaration on the future of EU rural areas and rural development policy
The Declaration, adopted by the Rural Pact Coordination Group (RPCG) on 12 December 2024, sets out a strategic proposal for the post-2027 EU funds and policies to address the challenges faced by rural areas.
