Five consultations are now open, each feeding into a specific upcoming EU strategy or legislative initiative:

  • Youth (deadline 8 December): gathers input to support the European Child Guarantee, helping the Commission identify how best to protect children at risk of poverty and social exclusion and improve access to services.
  • Climate action (deadline 12 December): collects feedback to inform the initiative on land use and forestry (LULUCF), contributing to EU efforts to reduce emissions, enhance carbon sinks and strengthen climate resilience.
  • Regional policy (deadline 15 December): seeks views on improving conditions for the EU outermost regions and on the regulatory simplification package, with the goal of removing legal and administrative barriers and enhancing territorial cohesion.
  • Agriculture and rural development (deadline 15 December): invites contributions to shape the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) annual performance clearance and scrutiny of transactions.
  • Social inclusion (deadline 6 February): seeks input to support the EU Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities up to 2030, informing measures that promote accessibility, equal opportunities and full participation.

These open consultations provide a direct channel for rural communities, practitioners, local authorities and citizens to influence future EU policy. Your contribution can help ensure that rural needs and perspectives are fully reflected in the next generation of EU initiatives.
