European Commission unveils the 2028–2034 EU budget proposals that will shape the future of rural areas
The newly launched EU proposal for the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2028–2034 sets out a EUR 1 985 billion budget. According to the proposal, the largest part of the budget would be programmed by Member States through National and Regional Partnership Plans covering economic, social and territorial cohesion, agriculture, rural and maritime prosperity and security. Following political negotiations and agreement on the final regulations, Member States would begin drafting their Partnership Plans in consultation with regional and local stakeholders.

EU public consultation on Civil Society Strategy – send feedback by 5 September
The European Commission is seeking feedback from individuals and organisations to gather evidence and input on the Civil Society Strategy. It is an opportunity for rural civil society organisations to express their needs and concerns and to support the inclusion of rural voices in civil society engagement processes at the EU level.

Member States’ progress in implementing CAP Strategic Plans: facts and figures
The first report on CAP strategic plans implementation outlines EU Member States’ progress and shows concrete examples of achievements and successful interventions. Result indicators reveal good progress aligned with the set annual milestones, with some areas exceeding expectations, while others are still at an early stage of implementation.
