The publication includes regional indicators for 13 topics in the areas of people and society, economic activities, and the environment and natural resources. These range from population, health and education to the digital society, business, tourism, transport and more.
The 2026 edition has a particular focus on landscape features and precision farming, diseases of the circulatory system, young people in the labour market, and housing. It also contains key indicators tracking the progress of Europe’s sustainable prosperity and competitiveness plan.
Statistical information is presented in the form of maps, figures and infographics, alongside descriptive analysis highlighting the main findings. The online version of the yearbook features interactive maps where users can zoom in and get in-depth information on different regions.
These interactive maps are also available in the Statistical Atlas, while the interactive tool My region allows users to create factsheets and compare regions easily.
