The Policy Lab of 19 September 2024 reflected on key challenges and opportunities for rural communities and explored ways of enhancing bottom-up approaches through enhanced financing, delivery systems and territorial tools such as LEADER/CLLD and Smart Villages.
The green transition and its related investments need to be grounded in local needs and carried out jointly with local communities. The event built on the European Commission’s report on the EU’s rural vision: key achievements and ways forward which reflects on enhanced support for rural areas in the future.
