New call for local actions responding to climate change

Are you actively involved in addressing climate challenges within your community? Get expert, on-the-ground support for your project – apply to the call of the Communities for Climate initiative by 3 April 2024.

New call for local actions responding to climate change

The call is seeking to select 50 local projects in 11 EU countries,* committed to climate actions in the areas of regenerating biodiversity, water management, local circular economies or renewable energy in urban or rural settings. The selected local communities will benefit from specialised expertise, peer-learning, customised study visits, mentoring and coaching, and guidance on making their projects impactful and visible at European, national and local levels.

The European Commission’s Communities for Climate (C4C) pilot action kicked off in February 2024. It will work to support 50 local, climate-related projects to empower communities to become beacons for others, providing replicable examples and good practices locally to inspire broader change across Europe.

* The countries eligible for technical support under the Communities for Climate Call are Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Romania, Spain and Sweden.
