The repository aims at providing inspiration for policymakers and rural stakeholders looking to strengthen the development of the Rural Pact across Europe. It builds on the policy briefing Making the Rural Pact happen in Member States, which outlines seven key elements needed to foster action towards the objectives of the long-term vision for the EU’s rural areas.
Structured around these seven ingredients, the resource includes inspiring practices and additional resources on:
-
mechanisms for engaging rural communities;
-
designated government services;
-
capacity building and networking activities;
-
forward-looking rural strategies;
-
effective rural proofing and data systems;
-
appropriate governance systems for coordination;
-
mechanisms to coordinate funding allocation.
