The consultation will collect insights on the impact of EU legislation on housing supply and affordability. Stakeholders are invited to provide examples of how EU legislation impacts housing supply in specific cases, practical suggestions to reduce delays and costs that affect housing supply and affordability, and suggestions for increasing productivity in construction and renovation.

The call for evidence follows the adoption of the European Affordable Housing Plan in December 2025, aiming to boost housing supply, trigger investment and reforms, and support the people and areas most affected.

As one of the housing plan’s 10 priorities, the Housing Simplification Package will identify and address opportunities for regulatory simplification in the housing sector.

The consultation seeks input from national, regional and local authorities in Member States, as well as other relevant stakeholders, including professionals, businesses and civil society.

Submit your feedback through the dedicated form by 30 September 2026.
