Bringing together the international research community, the event praised the social transformation of European rural areas, while highlighting the importance of capacity building and support to rural communities in the green and digital transitions. Researchers from the EU and beyond showcased a wealth of projects emphasising the value of a collaborative, integrated approach for sustainable rural development.
The Rural Pact offers various opportunities for collaboration, including through its events, online networking, and structured dialogue in thematic community groups. These bring together researchers, public authorities, civil society, businesses and citizens.
The ERDN is a member of the Rural Pact Coordination Group. The 2024 edition of its scientific conference in Vilnius was organised in partnership with the Lithuanian Center for Social Sciences and the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.
