This highlights report summarises the main messages, lessons learned and examples presented during the Rural Pact Good Practice Webinar on territorial instruments held on 22 April 2026.
The event explored how LEADER/CLLD, Integrated Territorial Investments (ITIs) and Smart Villages work in practice and what lessons can inform future implementation.
The report highlights:
- lessons from EU-level experience with integrated territorial development instruments;
- practical examples of ITIs, LEADER/CLLD and Smart Villages from across Europe;
- approaches to territorial governance, coordination and community-led development;
- reflections on capacity building, stakeholder engagement and multi-level governance;
- recommendations for improving the design and implementation of territorial instruments in the future.
