The survey aims to collect feedback on the performance of the Food 2030 and will help shape Food 2040, the new strategic research and innovation agenda on food systems.

Food 2030 is the EU research and innovation policy framework supporting the transition towards sustainable, healthy and inclusive food systems that respect planetary boundaries. It outlines a vision for research and innovation across the entire food system, connecting multiple sectors from primary production to food processing, retail and distribution, packaging, waste and recycling, food services and consumption.

Under the 2025 life sciences strategy, the European Commission committed to developing a new strategic research and innovation agenda on food systems. This agenda, Food 2040, will aim to support the development of competitive, sustainable and resilient food system solutions. It will complement the upcoming strategic approach to research and innovation in agriculture, forestry and rural areas announced in the vision for agriculture and food.

Stakeholders can submit their feedback by 13 March.

The survey targets a wide range of stakeholders, from the food industry to consumers, researchers, civil society representatives and authorities.
