Transforming Rural Landscapes is a project led by the Rural Radicals agency for culture-led rural development which explores how vacant or underused rural spaces can be revitalised through creativity, sustainability and community-driven action.

The project’s nine-month learning programme targets Local Action Groups (LAGs) from across Europe that are interested in rural infrastructure, cultural activation and community-led rural development.

The programme fosters peer learning, strategic discussions and the exchange of practical examples to help LAGs identify concrete next steps for their local initiatives and connect with a European network.

The initiative includes online webinars focused on specific topics, study visits and participatory workshops in the partner territories, as well as the production of a final publication documenting the insights gathered across the duration of the programme.

In 2026, the four participating LAGs engaged in two international study visits, two open webinars and four local projects.

Applications for the 2027 edition are open, with places available for three LAGs from different European countries. The start date is foreseen for the beginning of 2027.
