The REGIOSTARS awards, Europe's mark of excellence for projects and initiatives funded by Cohesion Policy, has announced the 30 finalists across six thematic categories, among which a number of rural projects are nominated. Discover them and support them with your vote!
Launched in 2008, REGIOSTARS promotes impactful regional policies across Europe. This year saw 228 projects enter, with 30 finalists chosen across six categories, including a special focus on the European Year of Skills.
In 2023, the categories celebrate key themes like a Competitive, Green, Connected, Social, and Inclusive Europe. They underscore the alignment with Europe's current needs and future goals.
This year’s REGIOSTARS has nominated relevant rural projects supported by Cohesion Policy. From tackling rural depopulation in Portugal to implementing low-carbon policies in the French Alps, and energising rural communities in 11 Mediterranean countries, the nominees demonstrate the potential of rural initiatives in driving regional growth.
The final jury evaluation will occur during the EU Regions' Week in Brussels. An exciting feature of the competition is the Public Choice Award. Voting kicks off on September 14 and runs through the competition platform, giving everyone a chance to recognise exceptional regional initiatives. Don't miss out—the winners, including the Public Choice Award, will be unveiled at the REGIOSTARS ceremony in Ostrava, Czech Republic, on November 16, 2023. Visit the competition platform from September 14 to support your favourite rural project and contribute to the future of Europe's regional development. Your vote matters!
