The four Working Groups of the Talent Booster Mechanism have released a set of outputs and recommendations to support regions in creating conditions that allow people to remain in their home territories. The groups, which concluded their activities in March 2026, brought together stakeholders at EU, national and regional level to discuss harnessing talent, exchange knowledge and experiences, and share best practices.
Explore the results of their work, including a good practices catalogue and several other resources grouped under three core themes:
-
Fostering innovation and digitalisation for talent development: a practical guide on overcoming SMEs’ challenges, a toolkit on valorising knowledge at regional level, and a self-assessment tool to evaluate regional preparedness.
-
Building skills for the future of regions: a recommendation paper on skills needs and development in place-based innovation strategies.
-
Ensuring inclusion, well-being and essential services to enhance quality of life: a recommendation paper on access to essential services and quality of life, a toolkit for implementing social inclusion policies in rural areas, and a recommendation paper on overcoming talent challenges in the healthcare sector.
The Talent Booster Mechanism is a European Commission initiative which aims to support regions in training, retaining and attracting people with the necessary skills and competences to mitigate the impact of demographic transition.
