The European Commission’s ongoing public consultation (31 March-23 June 2025) seeks to collect solutions and insights into a circular and climate-neutral economy. This will inform a new EU bioeconomy strategy expected by the end of 2025.
The strategy will be aimed at farmers, foresters, industry and businesses, particularly SMEs and start-ups in EU rural and coastal areas, helping them close the innovation gap and make a success of the green transition.
The strategy will aim to reduce the pressure on limited resources through innovation in primary production, increased circularity, and resource efficiency. It will address barriers to and identify drivers for bioeconomy innovations and solutions to reach the market.
