Funding opportunities for circular, bio-based projects: open call for proposals
A total of EUR 172 million will be dedicated to advancing competitive, circular bio-based industries in Europe across 13 topics. Apply to the Circular bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) call for project proposals by 18 September 2025.

The CBE JU call seeks to fund projects developing innovative and sustainable bio-based solutions, with a focus on: feedstock, processing, products, as well as cross-cutting aspects such as communication and environmental sustainability. Three types of action will be funded:
- Research and Innovation: establishing new knowledge or exploring the feasibility of a new or improved technology, product, process, service or solution;
- Innovation: scaling up activities from prototype to product validation and market replication;
- Coordination and Support: structuring stakeholder communities; supporting technological visions and outreach; disseminating and exploiting research results.
