The hybrid event on 11 September 2026 – to be held online and in the Azores, Portugal – will bring together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, youth representatives and other stakeholders to consider the challenges and opportunities faced by young people living in rural areas across Europe.

The conference aims to showcase innovative research and practical experiences, looking at key issues such as social inclusion, rural employment, youth participation, education, mobility and entrepreneurship. It will explore how policies and initiatives can help young people build prosperous futures without leaving rural territories.
