The 30 EBAF members represent the rural and farming communities, other actors along the food supply chain, and civil society, such as environment and climate, animal welfare and consumer protection groups. Some of the Rural Pact Coordination Group members – Euromontana, ELARD, and Rural Youth Europe – have been appointed to the EBAF.

The Board will collaborate with the Commission to foster a new culture of dialogue, trust, and multistakeholder participation in agriculture and food. A first meeting on 4 February 2025 discussed the Board’s priorities for the European Commission’s Vision for Agriculture and Food, including the need to put the agri-food sector at the top of political agenda, simplification, and sustainability and resilience.

The EBAF was established on 24 January 2025 by the Commission, following the recommendations of the final report of the Strategic Dialogue on the Future of Agriculture.
