The consultation and its related call for evidence will inform the Affordable Housing Plan which aims to help all actors in the housing sector to provide more affordable and sustainable housing, thereby ensuring social fairness, inclusion, and competitiveness.
The Affordable Housing Plan will address policy actions in areas such as funding, housing supply and affordability. It will also explore measures to foster public and private investment, digitise permitting and procurement processes, and improve rental market functioning.
Additionally the plan will take a comprehensive view of the construction sector, addressing skills shortages, working conditions and service provision.
The proposed actions will aim to create added value at EU level, and where necessary be adapted to the national, regional and local levels.
