    Description

This Community Group provides a platform to promote dialogue, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the implementation of concrete initiatives aimed at empowering rural youth, and work towards creating inclusive, vibrant, and resilient rural communities in the European Union.

Rural youth often lack access to essential services and infrastructure, including quality education, healthcare, transport, and digital connectivity. They require support in developing skills relevant to local job market, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Furthermore, they need platforms that foster social inclusion, networking, and collaboration among peers and relevant stakeholders.

Rural areas are experiencing a significant exodus of young people due to limited access to education, vocational training and various employment options. Social isolation, inadequate public transport and a lack of leisure facilities exacerbate these difficulties.

Investing in quality education and vocational training programs tailored to local needs can enable young people to acquire skills that align with emerging sectors, such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, rural tourism, and digital innovation. Encouraging youth entrepreneurship, access to funding and mentorship, and facilitating the use of digital technologies can spur innovation and economic growth. Moreover, fostering youth-led initiatives, promoting civic engagement, and strengthening social networks can enhance social cohesion and contribute to the preservation of rural culture and traditions.

    Objectives of the Community Group
