The first webinar of the European Commission’s Harnessing Talent Platform will address the need to strengthen regional capacity to attract and retain talent in view of workforce challenges driven by demographic decline, ageing, brain drain and skills mismatches.
The webinar will share lessons learnt from two technical assistance pilot projects within the Talent Booster Mechanism, which helped 16 regions in/at risk of falling into talent development traps to mitigate the effects of demographic change and attract, retain and develop talent.
The webinar brings together experts from OECD, Prognos, and regional representatives to share insights and experiences from the expert support on the ground.
It will highlight short- and long-term strategies for tackling demographic challenges and designing solutions within regional planning processes, and explore how investments and reforms funded by cohesion policy can drive structural change on the ground.
