Description

In parallel with the EU´s LTVRA in Slovakia was created Vision for more attractive rural areas in a mission oriented foreseight as part of a research PoliRural project (2019-2021) and its continuation PoliRuralPlus (2024-2026), funded by the Horizon 2020 program. 

In between the projects, the zero draft was presented in October 2022 at the National Council of the Slovak Republic during the Rural Day. Subsequently series of four expert conferences were  co-organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic and other partners over the years 2022-2024. More than 2000 stakeholders and actors were involved during the last 6 years. 

The overall ambition is to unity all involved and bring a constitutional reform by adopting a doctrine for rural areas in the form of a constitutional law, thus ensuring stability, continuity and a clear strategic direction for the development of rural areas, regardless of political changes.
