Description

Our goal is to pioneer a replicable model of ecological, zero-input exotic agriculture in Zadar/Northern Croatia hinterland and in the EU to address climate vulnerability threatening the traditional crops. Method we are promoting in collaboration with Šulog d.o.o. (Exotic King) consists of pest-resistant exotic plants to reduce pesticides and providing economic adaptation for small farms via high-value crops. The proven transition framework offers sustainable, climate-adaptive, and profitable agriculture for other vulnerable EU rural areas. Organizing fairs, educational workshops and conferences to develop structured knowledge dissemination channels. We are putting emphasis on zero-input and carbon-sequestering crops. We prioritize agricultural activities that offer a clear environmental benefit alongside economic returns. The ultimate goal is to see these methods adopted widely, making  LAG “Bura” region an example of climate-resilient, carbon-neutral rural development in Europe.

Expected Outcomes

Milestones we want to achieve is continuation of successful "Exotic plant Cultivation" Fair & Workshops, expanding knowledge network (local producers & experts), zero-input feasibility validated (pest-resistant crops). Moreover, the aim is to reduce pesticide use by 5%+. We want to increase revenue for small pariticipating farms by 15%+. We wish to continue our work in empowering women in ecological sustainable agriculture and create a proven transferable model for other EU rural areas. Establishment of a verifiable process for measuring CO2 sequestration rates in fields utilizing Miscanthus and Indian banana (Asimina triloba). Direct contribution to the goal of a climate-neutral society by 2050. Contribution to biodiversity protection and the Farm to Fork Strategy goal of reducing chemical reliance.
