Description

We commit to organise research dissemination and networking opportunities relevant to rural development in terms of both academic and practice communities. In doing so, we will draw on existing linkages at CIRCLE, for instance with local, regional, and national levels of government, and also international research organisations, to build a community of those interested in rural development and policy issues, ensuring rich discussion and shared learning amongst different staekholders. In doing so we will amåplify discussions and research about rural areas, and increase the network of interested partners.

Expected Outcomes

We have two particular contributions to this agenda:

  • Publish (open access) a series of "policy briefs" which briefly disseminate research to policy and practice communities in simple and digestible manner. These will feature studies on rural areas, and provide important policy learnings from our research.
  • Organise events, open to academic community but also policy and practice communities, both physically hosted in CIRCLE and digital, on the topic of rural development, policy, and innovation. This will be part of the existing CIRCLE events programme, and will help to disseminate knowledge, enhance discussions, and develop new ideas for regional development, also on an international level.
