Description
ECOLISE commits to encouraging citizen-led collective action on climate change and sustainability in rural areas, especially by strengthening cooperations between community-led initiatives and regional, local, sub-local (village) levels of government. One aim is to scale good practice examples of connecting frameworks and methods such as Community Climate Coaches or Municipalities in Transition. ECOLISE also commits to positioning community-led initiatives towards the European Green Deal in its policy flagship project, the 10 theses towards transformative community-led local development.

Expected Outcomes
ECOLISE plans for an advocacy campaign around its policy flagship project, 10 theses towards transformative community-led local development, which will start in October 2023. The aim is to target EU levels in 2023 - 2024, followed by national, regional and local levels. The goal is to trigger deep conversations on a shared vision of transformative local development policies and their relationship with the European Green Deal. ECOLISE will start building projects around the scaling of good practice examples such as Community Climate Coaches or Municipalities in Transition in order to highlight the need for intermediary and connecting spaces which build capacities for cooperation both amongst community-led initiatives and local rural governments.
