• Objective 2

structure and enable collaboration and mutual learning between Pact members
Description

With the support of ERDF, our region developed a collective efficiency strategy to promote rural tourism, combining public and private initiatives. We formed a consortium with municipalities, universities,  LAG and companies to develop the strategy and identify the public instruments that leverages the private investment. Each euro invested in a public instrument should be linked to two euros invested in a private companies in rural tourism, agriculture and food products, culture, handicrafts.

EEC  MINHO IN aimed to promote investment in rural areas, with tourism as the leading sector, in a strategy that goes beyond the boundaries of rural areas, in a relationship with the main urban centers that consume the products and amenities produced and made available by rural areas and which.

In areas with low population density, institutional support, and business activity, this increase in private investment has a very positive impact on the local economy.
