Description
The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) has been one of the world’s premier online higher education universities and now has more than 87,000 students. The UOC’s core goal is to be the university of the knowledge society, promoting innovative education, personalized and lifelong learning, technological leadership, and research into the information society and e-learning.
Our commitments to Rural Pact are:
- To promote co-creation and the transfer of knowledge to respond to the challenges and needs of contemporary rural areas. We will design action research proposals on the different axes that currently articulate research at our university with the aim of reducing the territorial, social, economic, digital and gender gap that affects contemporary rural areas. We will do it from the reference frameworks of digital transformation, ecological and energy transition, with inclusive and feminist visions. Our potential innovative R&I activities as e-health, e-learning, tourism, culture and digital innovation and intelligence.
- To create and sustain a UOC Rural network to generate transversal and multidisciplinary collaborations with the different stakeholders involved in the rural areas.
- To transfer the knowledge generated in both research and teaching to connect our University with the particular needs and challenges of the territories.
