The main objective of the action is to create a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and cooperation between researchers, universities, local and regional authorities, public institutions, rural development actors, civil society organisations, students, young researchers and international networks. It will also promote debate on concrete challenges affecting rural territories, including depopulation, ageing, climate risks, wildfires, land management, innovation, digital transition, local development, cultural heritage and the role of public policy in supporting rural futures.

Concrete activities will include the organisation of oral and poster sessions, roundtables with academic and institutional representatives, dissemination of research and good practices, engagement with municipalities and rural stakeholders, promotion of partnerships with scientific and professional organisations, and communication activities through the conference website, social media, mailing lists and partner networks.
