“Rethinking Housing for People and the Planet” is an online event, part of the SURE project event series coordinated by the Smart Village Network, exploring sustainable housing, regenerative living, and community-led rural innovation through two inspiring European examples: Aardehuis Ecovillage in the Netherlands and Ostana in Italy.
The event will explore how architecture, community spaces, and local initiatives can support more resilient, inclusive, and liveable rural futures, while reflecting the core values of the New European Bauhaus: sustainability, inclusion, and beauty.
Through presentations and interactive breakout conversations, participants will exchange ideas and experiences on regenerative community living, rural revitalisation, sustainable housing, and the future of rural communities in Europe.
The event is also a Satellite Event of the New European Bauhaus Festival 2026.
