The workshop, organised by CODECS, will explore the most significant contributions of digitalisation in the agricultural sector, addressing governance, actors, resource units, and farming systems. The outcome of the workshop will support evidence-based policymaking and foster a more resilient agricultural sector through digital transformation.

The discussion will be informed by findings from the CODECS report on EU Policy Environments (2024), which investigates key policy drivers, barriers, and enablers of digital adoption.

The session will feature a presentation from the BEATLES project, which explores the transition to climate-smart agriculture (CSA) and smart agricultural technologies. It will highlight key findings from AEIDL policy brief on sustainability practices within EU policies, emphasising connections between policy instruments – such as the CAP Strategic Plan and the EU digitalisation strategy – and the three core CSA principles: productivity, climate adaptation, and mitigation. Additionally, the session will include an analysis of relevant interventions from CAP strategic plans, based on case studies from the BEATLES project.
