Bringing the Rural Pact closer to citizens requires enhanced coordination and local capacity building
The latest Policy Action Lab organised by the Rural Pact Support Office developed proposals to enhance the achievement of the Rural Vision and Pact objectives at the local level. Event participants worked together to identify the key ingredients for a successful implementation of the Rural Pact at the local level and approaches to make it happen.

European Rural Mobility Network meeting: Rural Pact adds value to addressing rural mobility challenges
The Rural Pact contributes to addressing rural mobility issues by bringing together and enabling collaboration among relevant stakeholders working in various policy areas, such as tourism, health, education, and housing. Rural Pact Support Office (RPSO) Team Leader Pascale Van Doren highlighted the added value of the Pact at the fifth meeting of the European Rural Mobility Network of 14-16 May 2024 in Èvora, Portugal.

EESC calls for inclusive decision-making in rural vision’s implementation
A new opinion by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) calls for enhanced governance frameworks, annual assessments, and targeted interventions in the implementation of the EU's rural vision. It highlights the need for a post-2027 rural development policy specifically dedicated to the implementation of the Rural Action Plan and recognising the significance of the Rural Pact.
