Four European public authorities formalise commitments to advancing the EU rural vision through the Rural Pact
The Czech Ministry of Regional Development, Opolskie Voivodeship (Poland), regional government of Castilla-La Mancha, and Catalan Ministry of Agriculture (Spain) have formally submitted political commitments under the EU Rural Pact. This reinforced support for rural development marks a new step in advancing the EU rural vision.

Rural Pact Policy Lab calls for a strong rural focus in post-2027 EU framework
Europe’s rural areas must remain central in the upcoming EU policy and budget framework, highlighted the Rural Pact Policy Lab ‘Rural areas and communities in the post-2027 EU budget and policies’ of 5 November. The event brought together over 100 representatives from EU institutions, national and regional authorities, and civil society to exchange on how future EU policies can best support vibrant, resilient and inclusive rural territories.

Rural Pact Coordination Group calls for stronger rural dimension in Europe’s post-2027 policies and budget
At its sixth meeting on 6 November 2025, the Rural Pact Coordination Group (RPCG) discussed how to ensure a visible and measurable rural dimension in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and upcoming EU policy cycle (2028–2034). The meeting also reviewed progress on translating the RPCG Declaration into concrete policy input and contributed to the preparation of the update of the EU Rural Action Plan (RAP) in 2026.

New online course on gender equality in rural and agricultural innovation systems
The EU-funded GRASS CEILING project has launched a massive open online course (MOOC) to support women-led innovation in rural Europe. The course combines theory, practical examples and case studies to help learners understand, support and promote women-led socio-ecological innovations.

From vision to action: Rural Pact Conference highlights report now available
The report from this major Rural Pact stakeholder gathering held on 16-17 September 2025 in Pecq, Belgium, summarises the key outcomes of the event. The Conference brought together over 250 participants from 27 EU Member States and beyond to advance the EU rural vision and shape the next phase of the Rural Action Plan.

European Rural Parliament adopts the Declaration of Inverurie setting out rural priorities for the future
Rural communities are ready to drive Europe’s future – but need partnership, trust, and the freedom to act, a strong message resonating from the sixth European Rural Parliament (21–23 October 2025). The debates led to the adoption of the 2025 Declaration of Inverurie calling for the recognition of rural communities to lead local development.
