New online course on gender equality in rural and agricultural innovation systems

The EU-funded GRASS CEILING project has launched a massive open online course (MOOC) to support women-led innovation in rural Europe. The course combines theory, practical examples and case studies to help learners understand, support and promote women-led socio-ecological innovations.

The course ‘Gender equality in rural and agricultural innovation systems’ offers a free, self-paced and open resource to empower rural women and strengthen their role in agricultural innovation and rural development across Europe.
The course comprises five modules:

Women’s role in agriculture, rural economies and communities;

Understanding gender norms and drivers of innovation;

Supporting women-led innovation in rural areas;
-
Innovating for women in food systems;
-
Tools for inclusive innovation systems.
Each module includes learning objectives to guide the study, lectures with theoretical insights, case studies and practical examples, self-assessment quizzes to test understanding, and ‘learn more’ sections with complementary resources.
This course is open to farmers, policymakers, researchers, cooperative members, or anyone interested in gender equality in agriculture.
GRASS CEILING is a project funded under Horizon Europe, which aims to empower rural women and increase the number of women-led innovations in agriculture, the rural economy and rural communities.
