The commitments were officially recognised on 5 November 2025 at the Rural Pact Policy Lab on ‘Rural areas and communities in the post-2027 EU budget and policies’ in Brussels. These new signatories join a growing group of EU public authorities demonstrating political leadership for rural development.

Through their commitments, they pledge to reinforce rural governance, coordination, and innovation at national and regional levels.

  • Czechia will continue recognising and supporting rural development as a national priority, ensuring an integrated approach within its Strategy for Regional Development and coordinating territorial tools, notably CLLD and ITI, to better respond to local needs.
  • Catalonia is consolidating its Rural Agenda, fostering interdepartmental coordination, improving rural proofing mechanisms, and enhancing data-driven policymaking.
  • Castilla-La Mancha will build on its Regional Strategy against Depopulation and various tools, supporting territorial balance, digital connectivity, and rural entrepreneurship.
  • Opolskie Voivodeship is advancing its Rural Renewal 2.0 initiative, promoting civic participation, heritage preservation, and innovative rural solutions.

Through these voluntary commitments, public authorities translate the EU rural vision into concrete action, ensuring that rural perspectives are integrated into future EU, national and regional policies, including the post-2027 framework.
