Apply to become a European Climate Pact Ambassador by 31 October

The European Climate Pact has opened its 2026 call for Ambassadors, inviting people already championing climate action to help inspire and support further action in their communities and networks. Applications are open until 31 October 2026.

Climate Pact Ambassadors raise awareness of climate change, organise and participate in activities, connect local climate actors and share experiences and solutions. They can act in a personal or professional capacity, but ambassadorships are awarded to individuals rather than organisations.

The call is open to people such as community and organisation leaders, mayors and other public office holders, policymakers, representatives of cultural, educational or research institutions, and influencers or opinion leaders. Applicants must hold a valid residence permit from an EU Member State, apply in an individual capacity and demonstrate a commitment to climate action.

Ambassadors join a European network of more than 1 000 members, with opportunities to participate in events and exchanges, access training, tools and capacity-building resources, share knowledge and increase the visibility of their climate action through Climate Pact channels.

Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, with early applications encouraged. Following the 31 October deadline, applications will be reviewed in November and December, with selected Ambassadors informed in early 2027.
