As the manager of a Local Action Group (LAG) in Romania, my commitment to the Rural Pact involves working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable rural development strategies that enhance the well-being of our communities, preserve our cultural heritage, and protect the environment. Through my leadership and dedication, I aim to foster a spirit of cooperation and innovation that empowers local actors and drives positive change. Key commitments include:

  • Community Engagement: Actively involve local stakeholders such as farmers, business owners, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and public institutions in the decision-making processes, ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered and incorporated into our strategies.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training and resources to strengthen the skills of LAG members, local stakeholders, and community representatives, enabling them to better engage in rural development initiatives and contribute to the sustainable growth of our region.
  • Resource Mobilization: Identify and secure funding opportunities, both public and private, to support the implementation of LAG's rural development projects, and establish partnerships with relevant organizations to leverage their expertise and resources.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive Local Development Strategy (LDS) that reflects the unique needs, opportunities, and challenges of our region, and aligns with the goals and principles of the Rural Pact and the European Union's rural development policies.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of LAG-funded projects, ensuring their timely completion, adherence to budget, and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly assess the impact of LAG's projects and activities on the well-being of our communities, the environment, and the local economy, and use these insights to inform future strategies and initiatives.
  • Communication and Outreach: Promote the achievements of LAG and its partners to raise awareness of the benefits of sustainable rural development, and inspire other regions to adopt similar approaches.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of the latest rural development trends, policies, and best practices, and actively seek feedback from LAG members and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of our strategies and operations.
