The report of our Policy Lab on ‘Bringing the Rural Pact closer to citizens’ is now available. It identifies key aspects that enable the Pact to add value at the local level, as well as policies and approaches to make it possible.

The highlights report showcases a range of local-level initiatives contributing to the rural vision. From the Catalan Landscape Charter, to the Hilvarenbeek Smart Village in the Netherlands, various types of local action can have a big impact on the lives of rural people and should be recognised and strengthened by policymakers.

The Policy Lab took place on 22 May 2024 and brought together around 100, including policymakers, public authorities, local practitioners, researchers, advisors, businesses, and EU project representatives.
