The Congress, organised by the Polish Presidency Council of the European Union, will highlight key values for preserving the specificity and vitality of villages and empower local communities to respond to increased uncertainty and risks.
The Congress will provide a platform for exchange on: the global challenges faced by contemporary rural areas and agriculture; a vision for the future; and the power of cultural heritage.
Specifically, it will focus on people, local communities and their driving force, key values for preserving the specificity and vitality of rural areas, possible systemic solutions and policies oriented towards rural areas in Poland and Europe. In short, it will address everything that is important for Poland’s and Europe’s rural areas and their inhabitants.
The Congress will bring together around 1 500 participants from across Europe, including: representatives of ministries responsible for rural development; institutions working for the development of villages and rural areas; local authority officials; NGOs; researchers; and leaders of rural communities.
The Congress there will feature over 60 exhibition stands, an outdoor exhibition space, and a number of parallel events.
