Young people discuss priorities for future of agri-food sector with Commissioner Hansen

The first Youth Policy Dialogue (11 December 2024) of this new mandate saw an exchange between Agriculture and Food Commissioner Christophe Hansen and 25 young people from across the EU on the future of the agri-food sector, rural areas, and related policies.

The event, organised by the European Commission’s DG AGRI, highlighted young people’s priorities related to the economic viability and sustainability of the agri-food sector, and generational renewal in farming and rural areas.
The exchanges will inform the forthcoming ‘Vision for Agriculture and Food’, expected within the first 100 days of the new Commissioner’s mandate, and the strategy for generational renewal in agriculture.
