The event (28 November 2024 – Brussels, Belgium) focused on policy coordination and multi-level governance, monitoring rural support, and addressing perception and communication gaps. It stressed the importance of a dedicated rural funding instrument, strengthened rural proofing, enhanced horizontal and vertical coordination, simplified access to funding for rural areas, and efficient monitoring system at EU, national and regional levels.

The Policy Lab brought together around 130 stakeholders to address two of the questions in the European Commission’s report on the rural vision implementation:
- identifying policy tools for integrated support for rural areas at all levels; and
- improving the availability of information on rural policy tools and funding streams without increasing the administrative burden.
